At John Canning & Co., we've always looked to the past to guide and inform the present for future generations.
We are all adjusting our day-to-day, working from home, connecting virtually, etc., and it is now, more than ever, that we should look to history for inspiration and guidance. While we may not be able to visit our favorite museums or landmarks, many have begun thinking outside of the box with virtual tours and enhanced social media engagement.
We often describe our work in preservation as stewardship, albeit temporary, of these historic buildings and interiors. As we near the end of April, we look to May with hope in potentially seeing these great historic places reopen. Our Covid-19 decontamination services are helping our clients and construction projects, in general, throughout this difficult period. Our decontamination services allow construction and restoration projects to continue, as well as other essential businesses.
We are ending the month of on a hopeful note with the announcement that our project at the Mark Twain House received a Palladio Award for Craftsmanship. Congratulations to the 2020 Palladio Award winners whose work represents "the beauty and humane qualities of the built environment through creative interpretation and adaptation of classical and traditional design principles".
I'm sure we all miss the hustle and bustle of our office spaces, job sites, buildings, and campuses. In the meantime, we'd like to share our resources page which provides a few guides, checklists, and helpful information for architects, contractors, designers, and building managers to keep you informed and in your work groove during these unprecedented times.
