LWR Journeys to Japan to Demonstrate the Viability of Manure Treatment |
At LWR, we're constantly pushing the boundaries of innovation, and recently some of our team members journeyed to Japan to demonstrate the viability, and multiple benefits of on-farm manure treatment.
Working alongside local partners, we proved that our technology can transform Japanese dairy manure into valuable resources for the circular economy including fertilizers, biogas, and recycled, clean, reusable water. It was incredible to see how, despite the miles between us, the challenges and opportunities in manure are universal.
This journey wasn't just about showcasing our technology; it was part of our global movement. From North America to Japan and to every corner of the globe, we're committed to changing the way we manage manure on a global scale, making regenerative livestock production the norm, not the exception.
Stay tuned as we continue to pioneer new frontiers in manure management. Together, we're making a world of difference. |

| Unlocking the WATER Trapped |
As LWR's resident agronomist and crop advisor, I'm passionate about sharing the remarkable benefits of integrating manure into soil health practices. Earlier this month, we celebrated World Water Day, making it timely to highlight the significance of our innovative approach to manure treatment. Not only does it help revitalize soil fertility and water retention, but we are also proud to contribute to unlocking another valuable resource: clean, reusable water!
This water isn't just a byproduct; it's a game-changer for farm operations. By utilizing this recycled water, farms can significantly reduce their reliance on drawn water from wells or nearby water bodies. Imagine the savings and environmental benefits! This recycled water can be used for a variety of essential tasks on the farm, such as cleaning sand, flushing barns and alleys, cooling cows, and irrigating cropland. In regions of water scarcity, this on-farm resource recycling becomes even more critical. With LWR's PLANT system, farms are mitigating the impacts associated with water shortages while prioritizing both productivity and environmental stewardship. If you'd like to learn what this could mean for your operation, let's chat! I can prepare a customized nutrient assessment to show you just how much more you can do with your manure!

Recent concerns raised in Johnson County, Texas, regarding sewage sludge biosolid fertilizers and their potential impact on livestock and groundwater, underscores the value of processed manure. In fact, manure continues to stand out as nature's best natural fertilizer!
Over the years, LWR has conducted comprehensive testing on processed manure, consistently finding ZERO traces of PFAS. As we prioritize sustainability and environmental stewardship, we remain dedicated to providing safe and eco-friendly solutions for the agricultural sector, including the effective use of manure fertilizers. |

The LWR Innovation Center is Now Home to FOUR Bioreactors... Here's Why: |
The lab at the LWR Innovation Center is now home to FOUR bioreactors! Why four? Because we take our title of ManureExperts very seriously, and these tools allow us to ensure accuracy and precision in our predictions for our clients of what we expect to see on the farm.
Over the years, we’ve collected millions of manure treatment data points that have been meticulously collected and analyzed. But we’re not satisfied with theoretical models…we're dedicated to delivering practical, actionable insights that our clients can trust. That's why we continue to invest in our Innovation Center, where we can leverage these bioreactors to simulate real-world conditions and replicate the intricate dynamics of the manure treatment process. Each bioreactor serves as a microcosm, allowing us to study various scenarios and variables in controlled environments. This approach enables us to gather comprehensive data, refine our models, and ultimately, make more accurate predictions. Whether it's predicting nutrient levels, gas emissions, or the effectiveness of different treatment methods, our lab work ensures that what we forecast aligns closely with what our clients will experience on the farm.

Clean Transportation Fuels Standard Passes in NM & RNG Hits Transportation Milestone |

New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham has signed into law the Clean Transportation Fuels Standard Bill, HB 41. This legislation not only promises job growth but also pledges cleaner air through the utilization of renewable natural gas.
As the state's fuel carbon intensity standard decreases, greenhouse gas emissions are projected to decline by 20% by 2030 and 30% by 2045. Joining California, Oregon, and Washington in passing a Clean Fuel Standard, New Mexico demonstrates its commitment to reducing carbon emissions while promoting renewable fuel production. LWR proudly supports this legislation and remains dedicated to advocating for similar measures nationwide. |
Last year, RNG achieved another major milestone, surpassing conventional natural gas in total gas consumed by vehicles, as reported by BloombergNEF’s Sustainable Energy Factbook. This trend aligns with other industry reports, indicating RNG's increasing role in replacing petroleum-based gas in vehicles equipped with compressed natural gas engines.
The adoption of RNG on roads is expected to expand, driven in part by new technology developments. Cummins is set to launch its X15N engine this year, following successful customer testing in 2023. As the first 15-liter natural gas engine designed for heavy-duty trucks and long-haul applications, Cummins has highlighted its compatibility with RNG, opening up a new market for the fuel.
The RNG industry continues to grow across various sectors. This month saw the commissioning of new dairy digesters, increased landfill operations, and a utility's inaugural investment in its own RNG facility. |
