Broward Health Coral Springs Celebrates 500 Aquablation Procedures, a First in the Tri-County Region

Milestone comes during Men’s Health Month and underscores leadership in advanced, minimally invasive treatment for an enlarged prostate

The Broward Health Coral Springs Team celebrating their 500th Aquablation procedure.

June 18, 2026 – Broward Health Coral Springs has reached a major milestone in men’s health, becoming the first hospital in Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties to complete 500 Aquablation therapy procedures for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), commonly known as an enlarged prostate.

The achievement reflects the commitment Broward Health has made to providing innovative, patient-centered treatment options that improve quality of life while expanding access to advanced care close to home. The milestone comes as healthcare organizations nationwide observe Men’s Health Month in June and encourage men to seek care for common but often overlooked health conditions.

Aquablation therapy is a robotic-assisted, minimally invasive procedure that uses a heat-free waterjet to remove excess prostate tissue causing urinary symptoms associated with BPH. The technology combines real-time ultrasound imaging with robotic precision, allowing surgeons to create a customized treatment plan based on each patient’s anatomy while preserving surrounding structures important for urinary and sexual function.

Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Heart Institute Achieves Florida’s First Staged Cardiac Septation Procedure

The innovative procedure performed by only a handful of centers globally to create two functioning ventricles out of one in children is the latest in a series of pioneering advancements introduced in the last year by the Heart Institute.

June 17, 2026 – The cardiovascular surgery team at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital’s Heart Institute has successfully performed the first staged cardiac septation in the state of Florida on a 1-year-old baby. As one of only a handful of centers in the world offering this technique, Nicklaus Children’s cardiovascular surgeons used a staged multi-step approach in order to “make a pathway” inside the heart so oxygen-rich and oxygen-poor blood can move in a way that helps the heart work effectively and will allow for the heart to continue to grow and improve circulation over time.

A staged heart septation offers a safer, more personalized approach for babies born with only one functioning ventricle by allowing surgeons to repair the heart in stages as the child grows. During this initial operation, surgeons were able to create two functioning ventricles out of one by dividing the ventricular cavity and anchoring the new septum.

TGH Behavioral Health Hospital Launches Partial Hospitalization Program, Expanding Access to Outpatient Mental Health Care

New day treatment program serves patients transitioning from inpatient care or those requiring more intensive support than traditional outpatient services.

June 19, 2026 – Tampa General Hospital (TGH) Behavioral Health Hospital has launched its Partial Hospitalization Program, a structured daytime treatment program that provides intensive behavioral health care for those who need a higher level of support than traditional outpatient services, without requiring an overnight hospital stay.

The program operates from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday at the TGH Behavioral Health Hospital, 1303 W. Kennedy Blvd. in Tampa. Hours are set to expand to 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. as the program grows. The Partial Hospitalization Program represents the next phase of care expansion at the facility, which opened in March 2025 as Florida’s first Medicare-certified freestanding academic medical center-affiliated behavioral health hospital.

Designed to serve individuals experiencing mood, anxiety or behavioral health concerns who can safely participate in a structured day program, partial hospitalization is also available to patients transitioning out of inpatient care. Partial hospitalization bridges a critical gap between the intensity of inpatient care and the relative independence of conventional outpatient services, with a typical treatment course of three to six weeks.

Red Light Holland Reports Positive Preclinical Study Results for Coca in Weight Gain Prevention Post GLP-1 from Magdalena Biosciences, the Joint Venture Held Through Its Wholly Owned Subsidiary, Filament Health

Whole leaf coca extract under evaluation is Magdalena’s drug candidate for post GLP-1 weight loss management

Toronto, Ontario–June 18, 2026 – Red Light Holland Corp. (CSE: TRIP) (FSE: 4YX) (OTCQB: TRUFF) (“Red Light Holland”, “Red Light”, or the “Company”) is an Ontario based organization advancing innovation and research within the legal psychedelic sector. Following its acquisition of Filament Health Corp. (“Filament”), the Company has expanded its pharmaceutical grade manufacturing, regulatory, and clinical research capabilities, supporting the advancement of naturally derived drug development. Through the Filament acquisition, the Company also holds Filament’s interest in Magdalena Biosciences, Inc. (“Magdalena”), a US based joint venture formed by Filament and Jaguar Health, Inc. (NASDAQ: JAGX) (“Jaguar”).

The Company is pleased to report that Magdalena has announced positive results of a preclinical study demonstrating that a novel extract derived from the leaves of the coca plant prevented weight gain in mice placed on a high fat diet, without reducing food intake or increasing physical activity. The coca leaf extract under evaluation is Magdalena’s prescription drug candidate for post-GLP-1 weight loss management, intended for development under the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Botanical Guidance.

It is common for people to regain weight after stopping GLP-1 medications, as these drugs help reduce appetite and increase feelings of fullness while they are being taken. When treatment is discontinued, those effects diminish, and the body’s mechanisms that regulate hunger and body weight may promote weight gain. Magdalena’s thesis is that the coca leaf extract under evaluation may have the potential to serve as a weight maintenance therapy following cessation of GLP-1 therapy, addressing a significant unmet need for safe, long term weight management solutions.

Spatial map of bladder cancer reveals hidden tumor environments and new paths toward precision therapy

Spatial map of a muscle-invasive bladder cancer tissue specimen at single-cell resolution, showing basal-like cancer cells (pink), luminal cancer cells (green), and intermediate-state cancer cells (light green). Additional cell populations include cancer-associated fibroblasts (yellow), macrophages (salmon), T cells (light blue), endothelial cells (dark purple), and pericytes (violet). Image courtesy of the Wang laboratory.

Spatial profiling of muscle-invasive bladder cancer reveals how different tumor cell states are organized within individual tumors
Bladder tumors are not simply “luminal” (more differentiated) or “basal” (less differentiated) but often contain both cell states arranged in distinct spatial patterns
Luminal tumor cores and basal-like invasive regions respond differently to treatments
Findings provide a framework that may inform precision therapy strategies tailored to the spatial tumor cell landscape of bladder cancer
June 18, 2026 – Researchers at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center have developed a spatial map of muscle-invasive bladder cancer, revealing how tumor cell states, immune environments and therapeutic vulnerabilities are organized within tumors. The study, published in Cancer Discovery, provides a new framework for understanding why patients with bladder cancer may respond differently to treatment.

The research was led by Linghua Wang, M.D., Ph.D., professor of Genomic Medicine, executive director and head of the Center for Cellular Language Intelligence, associate member of the James P. Allison Institute™, and focus area co-lead with the Institute for Data Science in Oncology; together with Jianjun Gao, M.D., Ph.D., professor of Genitourinary Medical Oncology, and co-first authors Kai Yu, Ph.D., postdoctoral fellow in the Wang laboratory, and Jianfeng Chen, M.D., Ph.D., instructor of Genitourinary Medical Oncology.

WHO issues comprehensive guidelines on filovirus disease, including Ebola and Marburg disease

June 17, 2026 — As the Democratic Republic of the Congo is battling an Ebola disease outbreak caused by the Bundibugyo virus, the World Health Organization (WHO) has released its first comprehensive guidelines for the clinical management of filovirus disease which include all types of Ebola and Marburg viruses. The new guidelines highlight the importance of early supportive care to improve patient survival and health outcomes, outlining 16 evidence-based recommendations.

Ebola and Marburg diseases are serious and often fatal, with case fatality rates ranging from 25% to 90% in the most severe outbreaks. There have been 72 outbreaks of Ebola and Marburg diseases reported in Africa since 1967, when Marburg virus was first discovered. These outbreaks often have significant socio-economic and psychological impact on communities affected. In the absence of licensed vaccines and treatments for Marburg virus disease, Bundibugyo and Sudan virus diseases, early supportive care significantly improves survival.

AHA files amicus brief in case challenging HHS, CMS on provider taxes

June 17, 2026 – The AHA drafted and filed an amicus brief June 17 in the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in a case regarding Medicaid financing and provider taxes filed by the state of Texas against the Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. The AHA argued that by improperly expanding the scope of what constitutes a prohibited “hold harmless” arrangement, CMS and HHS are purposely disregarding a portion of a federal statute on guaranteed arrangements for payments. The AHA is advocating for affirmance of the district court ruling that vacated portions of a 2023 informational bulletin from CMS on healthcare-related taxes and hold harmless arrangements, as well as related portions of a 2024 final rule pertaining to Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program managed care.

An Evening of Hope Celebrating 25 Years of Compassion and Saving Lives

For 25 years, A Safe Haven for Newborns has stood as a beacon of hope for mothers in crisis and a lifeline for vulnerable newborns. What began as Nick’s deeply personal journey to heal a broken heart and honor the memory of his beloved wife, Gloria, following her tragic passing, has grown into an internationally recognized organization dedicated to preventing infant abandonment and providing support, counseling, and critical resources to women facing the overwhelming reality of an unplanned pregnancy. From its beginnings, the mission has been rooted in compassion, dignity, and love — offering hope, protection, and a path forward during life’s most difficult moments.

Over the past quarter century, countless lives have been touched through the organization’s unwavering commitment to offering safe, legal, and anonymous options for mothers seeking help. Through advocacy, education, community partnerships, and around-the-clock support, A Safe Haven for Newborns has continued to remind women that they are never alone. To date, 441 newborns have been given a chance at life — 431 in Florida; nine in other states, and one in Honduras.

This milestone anniversary is more than a celebration of years — it is a celebration of lives, second chances, and the power of compassion to change the future. We invite you to join us in celebrating our Silver Jubilee by visiting our website and selecting a sponsorship opportunity. Or, contact Nick Silverio at safehaven@asafehavenfornewborns.com; 305-882-1304 x103 for more information.
